Of my own started out in 1995 as a band called Irate. Phil on drums, Chaz on vocals, John on guitar, Matt on bass and Roger on Vocals. Irate played shows around CT and NY until our drummer parted ways. Upon finding a new drummer ...Pano (formerly of New Suburban Gods) and bringing in a new guitarist ...Tony (Formerly of Stitch) we were a new band with a new name "OF MY OWN..."! After playing more shows and making a demo (titled "Defiance") our singer departed and we found Eric (formerly of Stitch). So goes the drama for another year. Come January of 2001, we finish our first full length CD entitled "FAR FROM GRACE". At this point, Tony opts to leave the band and the search goes on for a new guitarist. ...Enter Kerry. Kerry is our land(slum)lord at Barnowl Studios in Wallingford where we rehearse. He was formerly in the death metal band Evilution which played many shows nationally.

Our sound comes from a combination of influences ranging from Hardcore to Hip Hop. As all of our styles come together, it falls into the metal and hardcore category . Definitely heavy.
